Flowers are plants that appear in the Fauna Crossing series. They will randomly generate throughout the boondocks once a new save file is created. They tin can exist planted either by players or villagers, although some special flowers but occur when specific criteria are satisfied. Flowers will grow throughout the year. They serve a diverseness of purposes, such as attracting bugs and developing a perfect town status. They can likewise be placed in a house as furniture or be worn by the role player.

There are many different types of flowers and they come in a diversity of colors. Players tin develop hybrids of certain types of flowers through selective breeding.

Flowers in New Horizons work significantly differently compared to previous games. For more specific details on new mechanics specific to New Horizons, please encounter New Horizons flower mechanics for more details.

Overview

Flower seeds tin be purchased from the Gardening Shop or Tom Nook's store. Once grown, they tin can be transplanted, worn as accessories, used in home decor, or given as gifts.

In Wild Earth, Urban center Folk, and New Leaf, wilted flowers become dull brownish and are destroyed if picked, but can exist restored if watered with a watering tin on the same day as they wilt. Flowers volition slightly burnish up upon watering; precipitation will also revive flowers. They will not wilt if the Beautiful Town ordinance is in effect.

Running across flowers gives a risk of destruction. Digging up flowers with a shovel will immediately destroy them. Both of these aspects were changed in New Horizons where digging up flowers at present adds them to the inventory and running over flowers only destroy the flowering part of the flower.

Bugs on flowers

Many bug species but occur adjacent to flowers, including ladybugs, snails, mantises, bees and certain butterflies. Until New Leaf tulips did non attract any bugs. Three bugs, peacock butterflies, orchid mantises, and tiger butterflies, are attracted only to specific colors of flowers. For case, the peacock butterfly appears simply when blue, black, or purple flowers are present.

The related dandelion, a diverseness of weed, attracts only orchid mantises. Still, they can spawn on any white flower.
